Esteemed Colleagues,
Greetings! I would like to begin by thanking you for the opportunity to serve as President of the Garland Area Alliance of Black School Educators (GAABSE) for the 2011-2012 school year. Having served this organization, and on the Executive Board, for the past six years, I have a deep appreciation and understanding of the organization’s mission and its goals. It is not without some humility that I step into this position.
Looking to the future, there are some changes that I will implement in order to continue to grow a healthy, active, and service oriented organization. In order for these positive changes to occur I will need the support of every current member of this organization and the future ones that we will acquire. We will need every member to take a leadership role in the recruitment and retention of our members, the growth of our committees, and the vitality of the college readiness initiative. We will also increase the professional development opportunities that our certification as a CPE provider allows us. I encourage a constructive exchange of information between all members of the organization and look forward to us growing together!
On our site you will find the current and upcoming events schedule, an application for membership, and a payroll deduction form. I look forward to seeing you at our meetings and events. This will be a progressive and uplifting year and I look forward to your participation!
Warmest Regards,
Lauren A. McKinney, M.Ed.
President
